CHRIS & KATIE'S ENGAGEMENT SHOOT DULUTH, MINNESOTA, USA

For me, the highlight of doing engagement shoots is the calm and relaxed atmosphere that unfolds. Enjoy the sense of serenity unveiling itself in the images below.
Chris and Katie being serenaded by the waterfalls at Lester Park, Duluth. http://www.duluthmn.gov/parks/trail_pages/lester_park_trail.cfm

Basalt rock formations lending a unique sort of lunar landscape feel to this image
           Calm and carefree
Chris encapsulating one of my favourite quotes: 'If you are not living on the edge, you are taking  up too much space'
Chris and Katie captured under one of the 3 stone bridges at Lester park. A few winters ago the water reached the top of the bridge's arch--incredible to image.
Beautiful basalt rock formations on the valley floor at Lester Park.
I SHOOT PEOPLE: Chris is a hunter and as hunting is a national pastime in these parts of the world, I wanted this image to encapsulate that deer hunter shooting style -- the couple emerging through the foliage as depicted above. Not the most romantic analogy but Im sure you get the idea.
Incredible ironies.  I 'shot' this deer on the highway home a few hours after the shoot. I think the deer is giving me the 'thumbs up' to my chosen shooting style!

     Forest Fever

Capturing a gorgeous moment in time!

    Tranquility
Ethereal light created by shooting with 'off-camera' flash
Surprise..........wait till you see this view unfold
One of Duluth's most famous vantage points - Hawk Ridge. Not only does it boast enviable views of both Lake Superior and Duluth harbour but it is famous for the annual raptor migration in late August/September. http://www.superiortrails.com/duluth-hawk-ridge.html
Our photoshoot coincided with one of Duluth's busiest tourist weekends which is when the Tall Ships make their annual migration into town. http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/event/article/id/273739/
This shot gives a brilliant representation of the immense scale of these tall majestic ships in relation to  other yachts commonly sighted on Lake Superior.
The road to nowhere. Hawk Ridge with Lake Superior, the world's largest freshwater lake looming large in the backround.http://visitduluth.com/about/lake_superior_facts.php
With all the tourists in town poor Katie was exhausted after working a 16 hour shift at the famous Grandma's restaurant in town. www.grandmasrestaurants.com/ Thanks for pushing-on Katie! Looking gorgeous in Cloud 9
And the end of another day, with the Tall Ships entering Duluth harbour for the night.
One down and one to go Chris! So she said yes to the engagement question, now all that remains is another YES at the wedding alter. Looking forward to capturing the full monty moment onto of Spirit mountain. For a sneak peak of their wedding venue, visit Spirit Mountain at http://www.spiritmt.com/photos-video/
